  • Investment in new housing construction, September 2008 - Data on investment in new housing construction (including single dwellings, semi-detached dwellings, row housing, apartments and condominiums) are now available for September.
     
  • Construction Union Wage Rate Index, October 2008 - The Construction Union Wage Rate Index (including supplements) for Canada remained unchanged in October compared with the September level of 143.2 (1992=100).
     
  • Apartment Building Construction Price Index, Third quarter 2008 - The composite price index for apartment building construction increased 1.3% from the previous quarter to 169.3 (1997=100) in the third quarter of 2008, mostly the result of construction material price increases.
     
  • Steel wire and specified wire products, September 2008 - Data on steel wire and specified wire products production are now available for September.
     
  • Non-residential Building Construction Price Index, third quarter 2008 - The composite price index for non-residential building construction increased 2.4% from the previous quarter to 179.8 (1997=100) in the third quarter, mostly as a result of construction material price increases
     
  • Cement, September 2008 - Data on cement are now available for September.
     
  • New Housing Price Index, September 2008 - The New Housing Price Index increased 2.1% in September on a year-over-year basis, a slower pace than the 2.3% advance in August.
     
  • Fixed assets, 2008 - Expenditures on oil and gas extraction, as well as high technology, were the main contributors to the growth in fixed assets in Canada during the past decade. Provincially, Alberta recorded the fastest growth in the share of the nation's fixed capital stock rose during this decade.
     
  • Building permits, September 2008 - Municipalities issued $6.5 billion in building permits in September, up 13.4% following an 11.7% decline in August. September's increase was the result of gains in all three components of the non-residential sector.

  • Electric utility construction price indexes, annual 2007 and the first half 2008 - Construction costs for distribution systems increased by 2.7% during the first half of 2008. The increase in the labour and the construction indirects components for this period were the major contributors to this change. Costs for distribution systems in 2007 increased 4.4% over 2006.
